It’s time to check that season pass and leave it in the car, rip those skins, and slay some fresh pow on your Weston Backcountry splitboard in the Eastern Sierra! Golden State Guiding is incredibly excited to announce our third annual Ladies Weekend Out Splitboarding event is back in beautiful Mammoth Lakes!

With the help from our good friends over at Weston Backcountry, Volcom, Rab Equipment, Tera Kaia, and Pure Project Brewing, we’ll be hosting our third LWO splitboarding event in Mammoth Lakes this March 8th - 10th. Eight lucky Ladies will have the chance to tour and ride in the breathtaking Eastern Sierra this spring with our talented, all female Splitboard Guide team. Both days will be packed with educational topics and will cover in depth reviews of splitboarding equipment, avalanche safety, trip planning, touring techniques, important tips and tricks from our guides, and much more. And the added bonus this year is we have an AirBnB for our guests to stay in! Get ready to bring the stoke levels because it’s going to be one memorable weekend filled with powder stashes, pocket bacon, and fun for the entire group of Slaydies!

Our Ladies Weekend Out events are quickly becoming the go-to, all female events to attend and we couldn’t be more psyched to bring LWO to the snow for some splitboarding! The smaller group size sets the stage for a more intimate weekend where participants get to know one-another and receive more personalized instruction. The relationships formed from our LWO events is what makes these weekends so special and such a success! We hope to see you out there this spring with us in Mammoth, it’s going to be a great time for everyone involved!

Throughout the tour our professional Guides will review topics such as avalanche safety, trip planning, and will speak to the terrain you are touring through and point out the best ways to navigate, while putting in a skin track, and how to be as efficient as possible. After the ride down and slaying some fresh pow, we’ll wrap up the first day around 3:00 pm and kick off a happy hour session by indulging in some tasty Pure Project Brewing craft beers upon your return to the trailhead! We’ll use this day to answer any specific questions you may from the previous day, and work on fine tuning your touring and riding techniques. We plan to wrap up the second day around 3:00 pm to ensure those who are driving home have adequate time to hit the road.

  • There will be a full kitchen to cook meals with at the AirBnB we’ve rented for the weekend.

Food is not included in the cost of this event. We will supply refreshments from Pure Project Brewing and Rove Adventure Beer both evenings.

It’s in the best interest of the group that any guest who registers for Ladies Weekend Out Mammoth is a competent resort rider. This means being able to snowboard down blue/black runs at the resort. Thanks in advance for your honesty before registering.

A frequently asked question is “will my regular snowboard boots work for splitboarding?” The answer is yes. If you have a pair of resort boots they will work just fine. We do not provide snowboard boots for the event.

All Ladies will be responsible for bringing a backpack to house their avalanche equipment, layers of warm clothing, food, and water for each day. You must also provide your own snowboard boots.
