CLIMB // EDUCATE // EXPLORE // INSPIRE is our purpose here at Golden State Guiding with a large emphasis on the EDUCATION component with all of our programming. Education is at the core of our service here at GSG so supporting our partners who are also in the business to educate our community is a top priority of ours. Golden State Guiding is excited to share with you the 8 Steps to Becoming Competent in the Backcountry, brought to you by our good friends over at Weston Backcountry. The backcountry can be an intimidating arena to enter into if you’re just getting into it so make sure to check out these helpful resources below and take advantage of some of this free education presented by Weston and other friends and partners of ours. And lastly, be sure to check back in throughout the season as we’ll be updating this page frequently as snow begins to pile up and fill in your favorite shred zones! Now Go Forth and Slay some Pow!
