COVID-19 OPERATING PROCEDURES

THE FUTURE OF GUIDING WITH GOLDEN STATE GUIDING

The safety and the well being of our guests and Guides are our top priority. Throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic Golden State Guiding has kept it’s finger on the pulse to ensure when the time comes to re-open our doors we had the correct operating procedures and guidelines in place so that health and safety standards are met. We’ve worked with local authorities and our permit administrators, solicited advice from healthcare professionals working on the frontline, and participated in numerous COVID-19 webinars to make sure we had the correct game plan in place when the time comes. Below is an outline of how we intend to operate with our guests and guidelines we are putting in place as we move forward. If you have any questions or concerns regarding COVID-19 and your scheduled outing please send us a message by clicking here.

***Please note these procedures and guidelines are subject to change as we begin to adapt to this new way of guiding. We will do our best to mitigate exposure through clear communication and these new processes. Thanks in advance for helping us keep everyone safe and healthy!

COVID-19 Operating Procedures & Guidelines

  • We will follow all National and State Park regulations put in place by our permit administrators.

  • Initially, all Guides will be required to wear a mask when guiding for us no matter the group size. Masks may be removed by the Guide only when climbing and more than 6 feet away from our guests. Each of our permit administrators have group size restrictions we will abide by.

  • It’s recommended that all guests wear a mask when climbing with any of our Guides. However, this will be up to the discretion of our guests and our Guides and is not a requirement.

  • All Guides will be required to carry hand sanitizers and use them throughout the course of any guided outing as needed.

  • All Guides will be required to wear closed-tip gloves when operating in the field.

  • All rental equipment will be wiped down with alcohol wipes after every guided outing.

  • All rental equipment will be rotated and stored for 72 hours between bookings unless travel by our guides is involved and storage is not possible.

  • No Guide will be cleared to work if any COVID-19 symptoms have been detected before a scheduled outing.

  • Golden State Guiding reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any guided outing if COVID-19 symptoms have been detected with any guests that have an upcoming booking with us.

  • All guests will be required to fill out a COVID-19 questionnaire at the time of their booking.
