Cody Kaemmerlen Golden State Guiding Ambassador

CODY KAEMMERLEN

GSG Ambassador

Cody began rock climbing several years back and hasn’t stopped since. Whether he’s overgripping highballs in the Buttermilks, freezing his ass off plugging gear in the Tetons or escaping thunderstorms in the Rockies, he’s hasn’t met a climbing trip yet that he didn’t love.

In fact, the sport and community have become a centerpiece of his life and profession.

After nearly two decades in the corporate world, he left it all behind to chase the wild idea of a life driven by passion and purpose. These days he is fortunate to spend time capturing stories as a filmmaker, photographer and podcast host with subjects ranging from climbing advocacy to climate change. Presently calling Salt Lake City home, he serves the climbing community as a member of the Board of Directors for the Salt Lake Climbers Alliance and sitting on the JEDI and Communications Committees. He is also a leader in various diversity specific climbing organizations.

When he’s not climbing he enjoys mountain running, road/gravel biking, fly fishing, chicken pickin’ licks on the guitar, geeking out over video and photography equipment, a good adventure read, crossword puzzles and dreaming up the next big idea to get after!
