Golden State Guiding is excited to announce our Sierra Spring Touring Camps with GSG Lead Winter Guide Jan Czyzewski are here! Join us for a 3 day, overnight Spring Touring Camp in the beautiful Eastern Sierra as we dive into essential backcountry skiing & splitboarding topics such as travel and time management planning, track setting and route finding, uphill travel techniques using ski/splitboard crampons, utilizing mapping software while in the field, avalanche terrain discussions, basecamp setup, spring camping tips and tricks, and more.
The Split 101 day in the field will focus on splitboard equipment, tour planning for your days out in the backcountry, touring techniques, and will end with a small tour in the front country to apply all the techniques and skills you’ve learned up until this point.
Join us for an Intro to Mountaineering Program in the beautiful Eastern Sierra as we dive into essential mountaineering topics such as snow travel, equipment, self arrest techniques, rope systems, snow anchors, crevasse rescue systems, glacier travel, snow shelters, terrain awareness, navigation and more.
