All Golden State Guiding instructors are professionally trained by the American Mountain Guides Association in the Alpine discipline and bring extensive experience in technical terrain, mountain travel, and risk management. They’re equipped to teach the essential skills you need for safe and efficient movement in the alpine—such as ice axe use, crampon technique, steep snow travel, glacier skills, rope systems, and decision-making in variable conditions.
