LAUREN BREITENBACH // AMGA SPI // WFR // GSG Guide
Lauren Breitenbach is a mountain enthusiast who has been guiding professionally since 2015. Like many new-age climbers, Lauren started climbing in a gym but really fell in love with the lifestyle after she experienced long alpine routes in the Sierra Nevada. While rock climbing is where most of her experience lies, she is starting to direct more focus into ice climbing and skiing to become more well-rounded in the mountains. Lauren loves the educational components of guiding, be it teaching technical climbing systems to proper leave no trace ethics. Along with guiding, she is one of three co-founders of an outdoor women’s apparel company called Arêt Basewear. Through guiding and Arêt Basewear, Lauren seeks to empower more women to take on leadership positions in the outdoor community.
Lauren is an AMGA Single Pitch Instructor, and certified Wilderness First Responder, she will be enrolling in the Rock Guide program starting 2018 to expand her skills and technique necessary for higher level guiding. Furthermore, she holds a B.S. in Environmental Engineering from San Diego State University.
